1979 Quicksilver

This was my original race bike from 1980, now fully restored. Rechromed,new stickers. NOS parts, 18 months to complete.

Did you buy this new? As i bought one of these back then. Mine was chrome with blue parts. Mine had the V- bars. Where did you get the decals. Thanks. brian from Sydney.

I bought the frame in 1980 of a neighbour and the local bike shop built it up back in the day. Looked similar but i changed a few parts. Decals were courtesy of Pete Porker.

Thanks for the comments! Quicksilver were made in Sydney by a company called competition developments. The bikes they bring out these days have nothing to do with the classic old schoolers

I have a book from 1981 that mentions 'Competition Development' as the company that introduced BMX to Australia 1977, great book, lots of nice original pics.
