1976 Huffy Thunder Star

True Miracle survivor.

Thanks to member yardsaleman for hooking me up with a relic from my past. My first 20" bike was this model. Now I have one back in my stable. If I NEVER buy another bike, my collection is complete!

Nice Huffy. I am looking for 1978 in black to finish my collection. the one I rode BITD had a black seat with a numberplate between the frame. Those were the good days!

Re: 1976 Huffy Thunder Star

That's really cool you found one of those! Looks complete too. Now you need to find the pants and get a current picture on it! LOL, just kidding because I know there's some pix of me wearing similar ones form back then too.

I really like bikes!!!

Re: 1976 Huffy Thunder Star

OMG! This bike was under the tree for me in 1976 (except it had training wheels as I was only 5, lol).  Do I remember correctly that it als0 had read/white/blue streamers coming out of the little holes in the handle grips?

I machine sealed bearing 1 1/8" threadless conversion headsets and extensions to fix those cut bars and other custom machining to solve your oddball problems.

Re: 1976 Huffy Thunder Star

WOW!!!!!!!! I had this very bike when I was 8years old in Holland Michigan in 1976. The only thing missing from the bike is the number "76" plate that goes on the front. Those were the good old days. I would love to buy this bike if your willing to sell it!!!

Bad A$$ dude.

The Goose is Loose!  Not really, he's married with three daughters and a male dog who thinks he's a girl too.

Re: 1976 Huffy Thunder Star

Sweet!!! That was my first 20" bike as well. I know there is a home movie of me back in the riding it the day I got it for my birthday. I couldn't sit on the seat and ride it so I had to sit on the pad.big_smile
