If i only had the right side grip that made the motorcycle sounds, pt a hard poker card clipped 2 the seat stay and install the <cb lookalike> fm radio that goes on bars- next comes shag carpet & disco ball 4 bling.

Re: 1976 Huffy Evil Knievel

WOW!   I've been looking for one of these forever!    Christmas 1976, this was left under the tree for me from Santa and I loved it and rode it like crazy for two years until my CYC Stormer showed up under another xmas tree.     Looks great and exactly as I remember it, except it did come with a front "76" number plate to match the one in the frame.    Also, are these the original bars?   I'm going back 30 years in my memories, but for some reason I thought they might be white like the frame with white grips?    I'm not even sure but man, you get a Fave for bringing back the memories on this one......

Re: 1976 Huffy Evil Knievel

GOODY39, your Huffy Thunder Star is beautiful.  What a great score!  I have my original Thunder Star that I'm going to restore.  I'm going to have it powder coated and re-chrome some of the parts.  I recently picked up some parts for it including an NOS front Huffy fender.  I've seen some Thunder Stars posted here with some differences.  Some have the bars like yours(and mine) and others have higher bars.  Mine had a slightly different oval number plate.  There must have been a few different versions of this bike.  I'll post some pictures of my parts.

Deadman, I recently picked up the front '76' number plate for mine.  I still haven't found the oval plate that goes inside the frame.  The bars on GOODY39's 76 Huffy are original.  Mine also had those chrome bars.

Here are some of the parts I found for mine.  I'll post a picture of the front '76' number plate soon.

I got my black Huffy Thunder Road (#4 on the plate) in '75.  When that bike came out the next year I was so bummed.  Awesome you got one!
