Nice. What's the SN on this? Where is it located? On the BB or rear drop out?
I'm researching Torkers for an article I'm writing. Any help is much appreciated.
Thanks,
Michael

Thanks. The question mark means you can't make out the third number?
SN on the BB makes it a 1979.
I just got one myself, but a 1980. Fun stuff. Should have it built next week. Just need to get some spokes so I can build my wheels.
Cheers,
Michael

Re: 1979 Torker MX Eddie King
Oh no... I was told by Gary? Owner of Museum to put a ? or # sign in place of 1 or 2 numbers in serial # to avoid posting complete serial #s of my rides. because...
Sadly...Some are not out to help fellow honest members but rather... try & take whats ours ![]()
This was a tip from owner of museum so others might appreciate the warning also ![]()
Pretty lame how we can't share all info on our rides due to jealous scammers ![]()
If that 1# left out tells you more info then I'll pm you it. All my serial #s are clear as day on all my rides.
Thanks for the great info. I can now put the correct year ![]()
Keep up the great help threads & Happy Holidays.
Doug
PS: Boxline69 that is one SICK T/A you have ![]()
PlanetX- headed to check out your sick rides also ![]()

Re: 1979 Torker MX Eddie King
Yeah, PM me, or better yet, email me. I have another EK with one digit dif. in my collection of serial numbers. It's curious. If you email me, I'll send you all my info so far. Hope to publish it on OS soon.
Not sure what keeping SNs secret really achieves, but I understand people's concern. Possession is 9/10ths of the law, right? So the guy who says it's his would have to have some proof you took or acquired it in some underhanded way. Some saxophone collectors do the same thing. Never really understood that either.
Cheers,
Michael

Re: 1979 Torker MX Eddie King
I agree 9/10Ths of the law is Possesion/ownership. All my rides are clean, clear & no groundoff serial #s. I believe leaving a couple #s out is to avoid possible headaches. Always up for avoiding headaches though & will respect his advise.
email headed your way.
