1982 KHS Duster 100
1982 KHS Duster 100
Built up as an Expert Racer
I remember a kid had one of these bikes at the race track (Ascot Raceway/Gardena, CA) in 1982. He must have rode for them back then because his bike and racing jersey really caught my attention and memory. I have some research to do on it, but looking forward to the build. Fortunately, the chrome and decals are near perfect. Custom plate by PlanetX. Thank you for taking the time to look and read about it...

That is a great looking frame! If it is indeed an 82 it is very advance for it's time. Congratulations on a killer score!

Re: 1982 KHS Duster 100
Thanks for the great comments guys. I have to admit though, I was slightly disappointed when I pulled it out of the box and felt it's weight. It's not chromoly, but extremely clean. I'm just going to have to build it with very LIGHT parts. (serial# 20702513)

Re: 1982 KHS Duster 100
Thanks vonmark01. I really appreciate the comments.
I've accumulated gold ano parts for it... no I just need to find time to build and photograph it. As you know, the 83 Nora is occupying much of my time at the moment.
take care

Sounds like you got a good one. I'll be looking for it when you get it up on the museum. I still haven't found much more info on the bikes. And I sure haven't seen a lot of them around. Mine isn't chromo, so I can imagine they were more low-end of their day. Although yours does change that theory a bit. I'm pretty sure the KHS company originated here in Southern California, but I haven't done any digging for info in a couple years. Good luck with your build... do it justice.

Re: 1982 KHS Duster 100
My bike is at my brother's but was able to get the serial# from him.
The number is either: 20702513 or 2c702513. He said it was hard to tell.
I'm almost 100% positive mine is an '82 from seeing them at the race track that year, same decals.
Yours might be an '81. If it resembles mine it might be. Are the decals/gusset the same?
