1977 Red-Line Pro-Line
1977 Red-Line Pro-Line
This is a first year Pro-line
This is another of my bikes that I bought from the original owner. It is a 77 Pro-Line serial number is 84xx which makes a late 77 The bike was in pieces when I got it, missing only a few parts, it still retains its original paint and decals with the exception to the fork decals, I tried to leave it alone but it just looked naked without them, so I added replacement decals to the forks. The bike has its original Dura-Ace cranks, Red-Line bars, Red-Line double stem, Tange Meriter MX-Pro head set, Tourney brakes, frame pad and stem pad. The original wheels, pedals, grips handle bar pad, and seat was gone so I added a nice used set of Oakley I’s, Reedy pedals, Cheng Shin big/little tires, Red-Line v-bar pad, elina seat and a set of 7c’s. A set of red 7b’s w/Phil hubs would be more period correct, but the 7c’s are all I have.
Wanting to sell or trade my chrome & black KOS, 78 Race Inc. frame and my 78 DB IV frame.
I’m looking for a Mongoose Two/Four, Racer-X , 16" Squareback, 75 Mongoose, Mototrac, Torker cruiser, 78/79 Microline, Also early Red-Line & Mongoose vinyl pads,

Very nice bike!!! I think that bike may be a 78 because it does not have the 2 hole gusset from the 77's. The bottom bracket serial sometimes got mixed in, and may be from 77 that were left over.

Thank you for the comments; this is by far one of my favorites.
As far as the gusset; the Pro-Line never came with a two hole gusset, that was only on the 76 Squarebacks and the first generation MX II s
