Re: 1985 Dyno Compe
I have changed the brake pads, moved the bars back, and shortened the cables up. I put an old school Dyno UL plate on it too. If I could find a set of pretzel bars in white I might..

Re: 1985 Dyno Compe
I really wish you'd take that bike back to stock. I have some of the parts you would need if you want to go that route.
Looking for:
NOS white freestyle tires, preferably something rare.
NOS white Elina Flyte Tech
Chrome GT framestanders
85-86 Redline rear framestanders
Turquoise brake pads

Re: 1985 Dyno Compe
Actually right now that bike is almost at 1986 Compe II spec. You say the bike is pretty much stock? If so, then I'm guessing that it's an early leftover stock Japanese frameset factory built as an 86 Compe II.

the decals have been on the bay lately, one day ill build a lavender one, true/funny/sad story, as a kid i grew up in a cpl seriously bad hoods lol i remember at this time i had a team murry that was electric blue with z-mags and all gold anodized parts including 3 peice cranks ( the bike was a friggen tank! ) anyway i remember a kid who was a few yrs older pulling up on his new 85 dyno that was lavender with white parts and a block neck that was white and had a lavender face plate and i was thinking omg he's so cool for having that bike, ok so a few hours go by and im hanging with the older kids ( cuz im the koolest lmao) and the kid on the dyno came running up the block freaking out!!! why you ask? cuz in ruff areas you would get punched in the face as you rode by on your nice bike so yould fall off it and get yo bike robbed lol it was extremely common and the main reason my baby blue gt pft stayed in long island (suburbs) where i went every weekend till my mom could afford to move me out there lol so know you know why i want that lavender dyno so much lol
and you also know why i stay big! lol ![]()

Re: 1985 Dyno Compe
The more I look at it the more I'm convinced that it was factory built as an 86 Compe II. The only thing I would change would be the seat. I would say the pedals, but there's no way you're finding a set of the original SR pedals in decent condition so keep the ones you have. Maybe add forkstanders and framestanders, but that's it. I have the seat you'd need, but I only have it in white.
Check for yourself:

The white one from the spare parts build is yours right?? Maybe, don't know about the whole bike for a F/F though.

Re: 1985 Dyno Compe
No, I'm keeping that one. I have another 87 f/f that has fresh black paint. I was thinking partial trade. What else are you looking for? I also have a 89 pro compe frame only with a dent in the downtube I can offer.

Re: 1985 Dyno Compe
Thanks for the offer Paulie....I better stick to my goal of getting rid of the stuff not adding more I have to work on. Just don't have the desire anymore.
