2002 Azusa
(JMC DARREL YOUNG RETRO)
#11 of 27 produced
I think i'm now the third owner of this ride after purchasing from oneluv1979 in August 2008. This bike is abolutely amazing and is considered a 'retro' build. The frame & fork are based on the legendary JMC Darrell Young frame/ fork originally made in the mid 1980's. It was made by instigated by Todd Britton and constructed by Bill Ryan/Supercross as a limited run of 27 in 2002 with current geometry, 21.25' tt and 1 1/8" head tube. This particular frame features a custom clamp welded-on that is similar to original JMC's. You will even note the decals font and pad set is similar to JMC. Some guys have used JMC decals. Other features worth mentioning are the oval shape fork arms and flat oval shaped handlebar crossbar. Also note the very limited AZUSA engraved stem.
Go to this link for further details on the history and making of this frame:

Special thanks to oneluv1979 from this site for his help with the information and of course the bike. He is still in mourning over the loss of this bike... you can't blame him!!

Re: 2002 Azusa
Awesome bike! But, just to clarify, it was I who started the project, and came up with the name Azusa (not Supercross) after Jim Melton declined on re-using the JMC name... Supercross was the manufacturer.
