Re: 1999 Specialized Fat Boy Hemi
Well, if you do change out the cranks, you should send the old 'crappy' ones to me.
Good luck on finding a nice affordable set of chrome 3 piece 'specialized' cranks. I'm still looking -but I'm cheap so maybe you'll have more luck.
Did it have those Mohawk hubs and the haro style bar on there when you got it?
Why don't I every find yardsales like that....

Re: 1999 Specialized Fat Boy Hemi
can u give me a rough estimate on an early 90's Specialized 20" fatboy that is a complete bike.
I have a neighbor down the road looking to sell one, but want to find out if 100.00 bucks is a good deal?
It looks to be a good deal?

Re: 1999 Specialized Fat Boy Hemi
I don't think there is a 'early 90's' -the fatboy started around 94 from what I can tell, but $100 bucks is a steal for the aluminum frames and not a bad deal for the chromo framed ones provided the bike's not in bad shape. If it looks good, you should get it. If you don't buy it, send me pictures and I'll buy it!

Re: 1999 Specialized Fat Boy Hemi
Well from what the guy has told me, he says, I''l send you pics, I'll send you pics. I offered to help him dig it out of his garage.
He just says, He'll get it out.
So when, I know if it's an aluminum or cro-mo, who knows?
But, who knows, are ya offering anything should I get a hold of it?
Maybe we could do a trade, do you have any pre90's mongooses's.
I have a '82 "Blue max", '88 "Proclass-expert-comp", a couple of regular "Hoop-d Mongoose's, a "Team Hoop-d" Walgoose? mongoose, a "Rebel" Walgoose/mongoose, a "Gavel" Walgoose/mongoose, a 16" Racer-x -Walgoose/mongoose.
Besides a china made "Dyno", A china made "Diamondback Viper-x", and a Felt-base bike.
So....... What ya got or can get?
LMK, Johnny G.

Re: 1999 Specialized Fat Boy Hemi
I can get my hands on a 1984 Californian with white mags, but it would be like $200 -and than you'd have to pay shipping -but I'd pack it up for you no problem.
I'd really need to see that fatboy to even know if I want it. If it is the same as mine, I probably won't be able to get it since I have two already.

Okay "tpaguy71", from looking at the two fatboys you have on BMX Museum, this one is blue, just like the one "trtate" has pictured.

Re: 1999 Specialized Fat Boy Hemi
Geat Bike! Alas, I already have a green and an orange one. I can't justify buying a third until I get rich (which i'm not yet.)
However, if you like it -that's a good deal for that bike.
Do you wan't that Californian? It's not mine -but belongs to someone locally. I'll pick it up for you if you do want it.

Hey, I think Jesters6 wants that blue specialized. In fact -please send both of us pics when you get them, I wanna see the bike even if I'm not allowed to buy it.

Re: 1999 Specialized Fat Boy Hemi
Right -I can't get a third identical bike (although I'd love one). My wife would kill me.
I'm looking at two other bikes now (good priced ones) -but they are both different than what I already have.

Re: 1999 Specialized Fat Boy Hemi
Oh so true about the wives............ We have to try to keep them happy while we satisfy our desires to ride and show off our bikes!

Yeah, of course if our wives just satisfied our desires, none of us would even have bikes... Did I just say that outloud?

Re: 1999 Specialized Fat Boy Hemi
Even though I have a wife and she wanted me to ask for the age of your sister, your sister does sound very tempting.
But will she leave me alone and let me ride my Mongooses or tell me to give them up and pay attention to her?
I also have a "sanford & son" looking truck. Which theres was an older ford and mine is actually a slightly newer chevy.
My wife says she is my concubine and my love/wife is my truck.
Would you sister sit third to all that?
Well, my wife does, so without a doubt I'm going to keep her........for now.
But seriously, we can work a deal on you buying the fatboy & me cleaning her up for you. Or if you want it as is and have a bike shop near where you live when you get back take care of it, who knows. That's your choice. Anyways, the Fatboy can be either kept as stock as possible, replacing with only "Specialized parts", which can/could be costly. Or you opt to get her running first and then add upgrades later on.
Or just start out with new upgrades, hey it's your choice. like I told you in the email, I'll strip her down to the frame and rebuild her up keeping her original but she will need parts either way.
Email me and we can dicuss more about the details.
Hey a Sfc stafford here says he knows you and you was one of his soldiers in Korea (aka SGT guido w/blackcats and 2nd flite).
There is also a Mr dorsey and a SSG Holgado who say they remember you but are not too sure.
anyways, brake is over, i need to get back to work.
Email me, later.
Johnny G.
