NEW SE 26" PROTOTYPE

Todd Lyons recently spotted on this.
It has a wider rear end to fit the Gears And Disc Brakes.
I'm sure alot of you will say it's not a BMX if it Has Gears & Disc Brakes... I say its still A BMX with Superior Stopping Power and More Capable for Hill Climbing.
The Frame, Fork, Bars, Stem, Design make it a BMX...
With that being said I would never own one, not my cup of tea. smile
Todd is riding the prototype from Venice to San Diego as we speak.

What do you guys think about this New SE PROTOTYPE ?

Re: NEW SE 26" PROTOTYPE

SE should just come out with a "wheelie " edition of a 26".

Re: NEW SE 26" PROTOTYPE

Geez.. these disc brakes remind me of the mountain bike fade of the 90's... I thought that all this stuff was so cool then gears, front shocks, then frame shocks & whatever else... fell for it then. NOT again for me anyway... I need one gear & for the most part one rear brake (not disc) the simplicity of good old bmx bikes for me.. to each his own BUT disc brakes are for cars & mountain bikes & 10 speeds

I hate chrome bikes.... I own a chrome om flyer hmm

Re: NEW SE 26" PROTOTYPE

I would like to see a 26 disc brake frame in either OM or PK style with 135mm rear spacing.

None of the SE disc brake frames have 135mm spacing which is preffered for a single speed setup.

Looks like a mountain bike from the early 90’s.  What’s old is new again.

Re: NEW SE 26" PROTOTYPE

Looks like fun..not for me either..
I do enjoy 29ers, and disc brakes.. depends when/where you are riding..
Happy to See Todd is still trying to come up with new / Different stuff.
Would be easier to do long distance on this for sure..
tnks for the "spy shots"

Re: NEW SE 26" PROTOTYPE

Eh, if I really need wheels that big, I’ll ride my dr350...don’t know what else SE can do anymore...the “Beastmode” bike kinda killed it for me, well the “public enemy” bike didn’t help much either...scot wouldn’t have done any of that...atleast I don’t think he would have...who knows

Re: NEW SE 26" PROTOTYPE

I am glad to see them trying new things as long as they keep making all the other bmx too. I hope it is another good seller for them and helps Todd and SE going strong. To me there is no point in arguing if it is a bmx or not. At the very least it is bmx inspired (like the OM Enduro), which is always attractive to me. There is no need for SE or anyone else to build strictly bmx bikes in my opinion.

Re: NEW SE 26" PROTOTYPE

Once again I will posit: BMX isn't a type of bike, it's a way of riding.

That being said, it looks like a fun bike.

ride your bike until it breaks.
