At the time I was looking hard for a clean PK and this took care of the craving.

84pk so what's the story behind Xcaliber and SE?  Seems like I see these clamps on a lot of SE.

Some of the earliest SE completes in the very, very early 80s came with Xcaliber seat post clamps.

Awwww, I was thinking this was going to like an Iron Chef kinda deal at a BMX show- Two guys under easy-ups with a tool box and a bin of parts building the bikes side by side ala' he sword fighting scene in Princess Bride with some annoying little dude with a mic dressed up like Alton Dean lol

I machine sealed bearing 1 1/8" threadless conversion headsets and extensions to fix those cut bars.

That actually sounds like a cool idea but the amount of time I spend over thinking everything there would be no way I would finish in time!

Re: S.E. Vs Patterson - WOSBMX CRUISERWEIGHT SHOWDOWN

Well, I did imagine you'd be bringing the parts you had already selected (and paid for lol) and the 'show' would just be the fun od the crowd waiting to see what comes out of the box next.

At least in the very first BMX Action test it says that the complete came with Xcaliber seat post clamp. But I don't want to complete with you in expertise, Brian. In any case, the Xcaliber fits the Mauler perfectly.

Wow, did it really? I honestly didnt think SE even offered completes on the PK until 82. I just know that I scored three all original PK bikes from one owners family a few years ago. A candy red, a white and a ball burnished and all three were purchased complete and had all SR components. There is also a BMXAction test somewhere that shows this but as you know, anything is possible and yes the Xcal goes perfectly with the Mauler. I use them on all my SE and RI builds!!
