1970 Schwinn Fastback

a 1970 schwinn 5 speed fastback

i bought this bike off craigslist for $200. the guy who owned the bike had a great story on how he aquired the bike. in 1970 his brother found a bike chained up to a fence outside of the bowling alley he worked at. the back sat there for a few months so he cut the chain and took it home.  so the guy put it in a garage in 1971. over the years the garage roof collapesed which caused the front rim to sit in a puddle causing it to rust. i am going to clean this bike up repair it in any way necessary and then i'm going to ride. it is a b speed stick shift. it still hass the original reflector along with the original decals on chain guard and a rare seat with only a tiny rip in it on the top about a centimeter long. it also has a real slick on the back. this bike shifts very well. i will post the final pics when done.  it also has 4 broken spokes on the back and one on the front.  i know this bike technically isn't a bmx bike but these are the types of bikes kids used before the creation of the bmx bike.  pictures 1 and 2 is what it looks like now even though i'm not done and 3 and 4 are in the beginning

If I were you, I probably would have taken the offer, as you can find one of these on the bay for like $250 in better condition. Cool Schwinn regardless.
