2008 Avent Tr7

Disregard the girl - she's just the driver & Texas State Champion in 2008 for her age group.
Ha! Ha!

American made Avent TR7 frame (Pro XL), Bombshell F1 forks, Chris King headset, FSA Ozzy Stem, FMF aluminum handlebars, Profile Racing cassette hubs, Thompson seat post, FMF Carbon Fiber Cranks

Re: 2008 Avent Tr7

Cool...it's good to see another TR7 on here.  Question about those cranks, how much clearance do you have from the chainstays?

Re: 2008 Avent Tr7

very little...about 1/8 inch...I'm not a bike guru and I am folowing advice from  other track dads and bike shops.  I bought the cranks for the Avent Factor and never had  noticed an issue.  I moved them from the Factor to the TR7 and did not notice the limited clearence.  I am always open to sugestions.  Always looking for something light.

Well I'm running Profiles on my bike and could probably space them a little further out but have chose not to do so at the moment.  I saw another TR7(I think it was an Expert size) at the Star Spangled Nats in Maryland running DXR's and it seemed to have a little more clearance at the chain stays.  I almost went with DXR's but decided to stick with Profiles which I haven't regreted so far.

Re: 2008 Avent Tr7

We had covered her cranks with shrink wrap in order to provide a little protection.  This past weekend we were at the Texas state Finals and the cranks began to rub the chainstay.  We removed the shrinkwrap and she had no further problem.  She won the State Championship for her age group. big_smile

Re: 2008 Avent Tr7

I know it's a little costly (but, with a bike like that it's worth it) if you are still having problems with rubbing of the crank check the lenght of your bottom bracket spindle if it is 108mm long try a 113mm spindled bottom bracket this will set you back anywhere from $40-$120 but in the long run will save your frame and cranks. bottom brackets I would recommend is the FSA PLATINUM PRO CHROMOLY or TITanium ISIS bottom bracket, or any PRO sized SINZ or TRUVATIV bottom bracket. REMEMBER 113mm NOT 108 mm if you have any question just ask I would be glad to help. and by the way good job on the state championships.smile

Re: 2008 Avent Tr7

in this case, the rider's more important than the ride... as is the case whenever the rider is as hot as her tongue like Sam Cools
