Re: 1988 Skyway Street Scene

This is my favority Street Scene in the museum, including mine!!!  I think it's also the only one in black.  If it wasn't so close to factory OG, it sure would be neat to experiment with different components to see if you could make that pink really *POP*!

It looks pretty damn good in the pics, but if there are some significant blemishes, I would vote "Go For It!"  I know Lou does specials every once in a while on black and white paint jobs (like <$150 f/f/+extras including shipping), so this might be a perfect candidate for a thick, glossy Lou black since you have the NOS decals.  What would cost alot and be hard to find for this you already have except for the tires, and I'm not sure replacing what you have would be worthwhile.  And while we're on the subject, the 88 Skyway catalog I have says that these are Haro tires if my memory serves me correct.  You wrote that this is all OG except Skyway tires, which would be different.

It's funny that you wrote this note to me today.  After checking out your bike last week, it inspired me to make some alterations to my own over the weekend!  I swapped out the blue seat/white post that was on it and put a chrome post and white Visc Dom on instead.  I took new pics, with Tuff IIs instead of OEMs, and posted them here:

Tell me what you think!

Re: 1988 Skyway Street Scene

Thanks for the info...I've never seen Skyway stamped tires.  And thanks for the comment on my bike.

PM me your email address if you'd like a .pdf copy of that brochure.  A bro here on the museum sent it to me and I'd be happy to fwd it.  And keep the museum updated if you decide to restore it.  Either way, I'd love to see more pics of your Street Scene posted here, too!!
