Re: Todays Ride.

On saturday I took this thing:

http://i1238.photobucket.com/albums/ff493/randolphcarter2112/Mobile%20Uploads/20160107_072441_zpspp8jwsvw.jpg

(It's a 1983 Ross Force One)

On the trails here:

https://cdn-files.apstatic.com/mtb/4095001_large_1379089877.jpg

(The Luther Forest trails in the tech park, Malta, NY)

I had a blast.

I also confirmed that I'm fat, old, and out of shape.

My buddy Gordon threw together a quick group ride, and I show up with a bike from Reagan's first term. They were all on $$$ carbon fiber rockets.

My Ross is a great beer run bike, but I think I'm going to retire it from active MTB duty.

The viaduct shots were taken on Division, the skyline shot was taken on Milwaukee, and the church is Holy Trinity, just off Division.

That's an awesome idea, thanks, I wish I could. Taking advantage of weather: outdoor chores now, raking leaves etc. and then plans w/ my daughter (back home from school). I did get an 8 mile ride in this morning but no pics sad

Re: Todays Ride.

Thanks.  It was nearing 10pm, and things were quieting down where is was.  I almost rode by, but the scenes told me that the time would never be better.  iPhone pics by a guy who certainly is no photographer, but I know that the best shots are the ones that compose themselves.

Good stuff.  It’s all about the ride, and pics never tell the whole story!  I still need to finish my yard work...rolllol

Re: Todays Ride.

My turn. Decided to take my GT out even though it was freezing and very windy.

http://uploads.bmxmuseum.com/user-images/41840/img_20171126_1316219265a1ace11a8.jpg

Rode two miles down to my local pier, decided to get my museum pics whilst I was there.

http://uploads.bmxmuseum.com/user-images/41840/img_20171126_1325056895a1ace3035.jpg

http://uploads.bmxmuseum.com/user-images/41840/img_20171126_1325332995a1ace395f.jpg

Did the entire three miles there standing up. Progress. My legs are so much stronger than they used to be. Stopped off for lube and a puff.

http://uploads.bmxmuseum.com/user-images/41840/img_20171126_1342553945a1ace5a69.jpg

Enjoying the view like.

For life, not just for Christmas !

http://uploads.bmxmuseum.com/user-images/41840/img_20171126_1350302085a1ace8d05.jpg

Then I had three miles of sheer hell. The wind was up now and the sun gone. The seat on the GT is about 3" too short to ride sitting down without using more energy than standing to pump the legs. So I basically rode three miles into the freezing winds standing up. Am soaked in sweat but I feel bloody good. I forgot how good working out was. Really gets them endorphins flying.

Re: Todays Ride.

BTW forgot to mention.. I was all set to order a "Go go action cam" the other day (sounds like something out of South Park lol) which is basically a very rudimentary Go Pro. Sadly I realised I needed to order mater's Xmas pressie, so I sacrificed the cam. However, I am getting one very soon so I will be taking video of my rides. Then probably editing them very poorly and then putting them up for you guys so you can take tours of where I live smile

But yeah, couldn't believe my leg strength. After riding that Quad all year (the cro mo one) this thing feels like a flying machine. I was also incredibly impressed at how quickly I recovered. I was expected to be wheezing and panting for hours but five minutes after and I just feel a bit cold (from the sweat).
