Re: THE OFFICIAL 2018 BMXMUSEUM CALENDAR COMMENT/PROGRESS THREAD

had this on the shelf for a few years.  got it on a trade deal and it was covered in a cocoon of dust and grime.  which apparently protected it for about 20 years.  the OG finish and decals look great and chrome is killer. smile
but, sorta got a wheels set going for it, so maybe it's time to turn a wrench and get this team sport frame rolling again.

The plan with my 2 entries is to match parts as best I can and create a pair of 20 and 24 twins. Danny DeVito/ Arnold Schwarzenegger style. Should be a bit of fun

The plan with my 2 entries is to match parts as best I can and create a pair of 20 and 24 twins. Danny DeVito/ Arnold Schwarzenegger style. Should be a bit of fun

man, ive been looking forward to seeing this built up.  SO cool to take the time to have that made.  gonna be a great build.

Thanks BRO, that Haro is going to be dope!  You know of all the Haro's out there, the 87/88 Sport is definitely my favorite!

Thanks. I'm planning on (if I can find) a inverted stem which I'd want to run as low as possible and they won't clear a lock nut.
So it looks like I'll need to use another headset with lower stack height

Re: THE OFFICIAL 2018 BMXMUSEUM CALENDAR COMMENT/PROGRESS THREAD

I just posted a build post yesterday... little did i know that the build off was up heh. The build that i am doing is temporary due to the use of non original parts for a few things, but it will be mostly original and should come out pretty well i hope. here is an edited parts list...

11/87 PP with original chrome (9/10 easy)
Original forks (chrome not perfect due to abrasions (from someone cleaning them with green pads suspect, but still nice enough).
Black OGK mags (my original 87's mags)
NOS Powerlite Viscount 2188 seat (same exact seat as the GT wing seat, but not $300. hope to replace the seat with a correct seat eventually).
NEW cheap laid back chromo seat post from acebmx (will be replaced with circle stamp correct post eventually)
92 GT Vertigo bars (they appeared to be the correct dimensions minus the circle stamp. they will be replaced with actual circle stamped chrome bars eventually).
NOS epoch mori headset (ordered nos gt cap)
NOS 1st gen gyro parts
NOS 1st gen gyro cables
Like NEW rear 990 stamped 88
Beat up seat clamp (my original 87's)
REPRO GT mallet stem (from ebay with correct logo)
Panaracer HP406 (black with tan wall)
NEW A'ME black grips
98 power series cranks (to be replaced later with some JM CROMO like my original had)
9/10 Odyssey Black Widow chainring (to be replaced with either a nice real cheese grater in black OR re release power series maybe)
GT MTB flats (maybe)
