Probably because flat isn't as popular and a pure flatland bike isn't comfortable for cruising around on. I guess you're meaning this as more of an old school flatland bike so I agree with you. But then again, I think all freestyle bikes should have front brakes, gyro, and pegs.

most new bikes do sell with bolt on gyro tabs odd this bike don't have that. or bolt on 990 ad u brake  fork post . then those that want it would have it. those that don't could simply un bolt the brake post.
sure you could just get / buy the AD adapter plate. but theirs still no cable guides.roll so you would have to zip tie or tape it down.lol

I would like to see the stem and 84 style bars on it. But the stem need to be a bit less bulky

New for 2018, based on the 1986 pro performer design. Nice looking chrome!

As a loyal fan of GT, I am very pleased that they are finally addressing the interests of old school BMX enthusiasts, just as Haro did with their lineage line. I am looking forward to see what future designs the GT Heritage line will bring out.

Enjoy, folks! cool

why on earth would they go back to a 1" threaded steer tube? stupidity or blatant money grab?

They didn't, it clearly states 1-1/8" for the frame, headset & stem.

The fork description says threaded, but as I pointed out, the frame, headset & stem all show 1-1/8.

Good luck finding a 1-1/8 threaded headset from anyone other than Chris King & they only make a few once a year.  You'll also need that 1-1/8 BMX quill stem (never even seen a BMX stem that size, just MTB).

Nowhere does it say 1".  seathole.

Probably threaded inside the fork to eliminate the star-nut.

+1.... Judging by the fact that they call this an 86 PP design and it has 85 style decals..... I'm not surprised the fork design was overlooked.  I bet to them it was just saving weight using shorter fork legs and not important to have the same look.

Im still wondering what the slice is going to look like.  GT logo and 4130 stamp?  NS GT letters or old?

Re: 2018 20 inch NS GT Pro Performer thread... who likes it?

I bet they could sell this chrome complete and also sell all the cool 86 colors as frame/fork only.  Frame and fork only in blue, green and purple.  Dayglo colors= Add $100.

Defo man forks need to look the same as 86 but they look shorter than 84. I no this is prob prob not the final design tho. I think done correct this could be a great seller. If its chrome only they should just do the 84 style.

Hubs are cool too, race lace like even the spacers.

Another angle of the Mallet.  Found this on google images and looks like the only one in the museum.

Re: 2018 20 inch NS GT Pro Performer thread... who likes it?

The bike is made in China. Chrome shows it but otherwise I'm happy got about 30 miles on it so far. That mallet needs to be released in a few reach options. It's short as is
