1979 Mongoose Motomag

Nickle Plated BMX BIKE

This is a 1979 Mongoose, BMX Nickle plated. This bike was built from F/F , Tange fork, It has All Original era correct parts or close to era, and has rare black nos Eric Rupe pro class rims. from early 80s, All these parts were found in a bike shop that is closing down and I had the pleasure of being able to pick thru the inventory, over this past winter go figure this day and age finding older bmx parts still stored and old inventory that never sold, !!! I found each and every part thru out this bike shop. DC clamp, nos pro class front and rear brakes nos, fluted post nos seat nos grips nos Comp II tires nos used RACE INC BARS , USED TUFF NECK, It has the color scheme that all the parts found allowed. Pretty cool ride I am very happy to have it in my collection. I love the yellow gold combo.    and it now sports black comp 3 tires.    the yellow comp 2s belong on my kuwahara kz1 I'm working on soon to be up on the museum.

Re: 1979 Mongoose Motomag

Did Motomags actually come factory without the Motomags? I had always just assumed that people switched them out because they were heavy. How does one know it's a Motomag if it doesnt have the mags? By serial number?

Motomag geese came with either motomags, tuff wheels or steel spoke wheels.  Either way they all had the motomag sticker from I think 78-81
