1986 Schwinn Predator Free Form Z

Original owner score!

Lucky to be the first caller on a local CL listing.
Purchased from the original owner...He told me he bought 2 identical bikes in November of 1985 for Christmas for his son and daughter (twins). He remember the sons bike had spoked wheels, and for this bike they bought the UNI wheel covers so the kids could tell the difference between the 2. Covers were installed at the bike shop at the time they were bought, because the cover hole was too small to clear the free hub in the rear and needed a special tool...I had no idea what wheels were on it when I bought it but assumed they were in decent shape. Took the wheel cover off the front wheel and sure enough they were Arayas and they were mint! This bike sat in a barn 3 miles away  from where I live since 1988 until I found it 2 weeks ago. I did replaced the grips, tires and pedals, and removed the wheel covers. Otherwise the bike is original...I did not like the Walmart knobbies so I replaced them with Cheng Chin skinwalls. Grips and pedals are in tact but are super dirty so got some white AME grips and some nice knockoff pedalsi still have the original parts including all reflectors and chain guard.May put the wheel covers back on, maybe not...Frame has some surface rust, but otherwise it's in awesome shape!Last pic was as found...I also intentionally left the Diamondback sticker on the handlebar...

That bike brings back memories.. I had a friend who had one. It had that baby blue pearl paint, and all I did was stare at that bike .
Very nice!

Please, just one more bike
