1979 Schwinn SX-1000

Very rare Factory Sky Blue paint

I was lucky enough to get ahold of a very unique Schwinn 1979 SX-1000 frame in Sky Blue. Until recently is was owned by the BMX Guru, never being sold to the general public. The story goes, a 36/36 in Sky Blue was ordered by the dealer and the frame was defective, Schwinn sent a replacement frame, turning out to be SX-1000 instead. The dealer then installed all the 36/36 parts on the SX-1000 and it never sold until recently. I was able to purchase the frame, post, clamp, brakes, and stem, then adding all the remaining correct parts of the production version. Seeing as how they only came in Chrome, Red, Silver. and Brown, its likely the only one you will ever see in blue.

Killer job Ray! I had my eye on that one. Looks great with the decals. You have to build a 36/36 with the parts you took off. cool
