1979 Schwinn  SX-1000

1979 SX-1000 Competition Scrambler Frame with 1980 Standard Scrambler 36-36 parts. Schwinn Approved parts swap.

So, this is a 1979 Schwinn SX-1000 Competition Scrambler frame with 1980 Scrambler 36/36 parts. This bike frame must have been either painted or repainted Sky Blue, by Schwinn, and sent to the bike store without decals or head badge. At the time, Schwinn, did not offer the SX-1000 in Blue, and so, would not have the correct decal color set for the Blue frame being it is a SX-1000, decided to send it bare. Of course I can only guess. This bike was built but never sold or rode. This bike has been hanging up since 1980 or so, collecting dust. Un-sold, un-rode, un-restored...The Real Deal! All original parts from a Schwinn Scrambler 36-36, except the seat post and clamp as the SX-1000 uses a larger diameter seat post tube, so of course, they would not fit the frame. Frame Serial Number (KQ813725) 1979/// 36-36 Parts bike Serial Number (DR521146) 1980

Re: 1979 Schwinn SX-1000

Thanks guys I just found the correct seat post. trying to find the correct seat post clamp, but I don't know exactly what it looks like if anyone has a pic of the correct seat post clamp I would love to see it. Thank you. I bought one to tide me over but I really want to get the correct one.
