Just hanging around, beneath are a 1928 Model "A" flatbed and off to the side a 1947 Ford super deluxe.

And around 20 more bikes.

The Model "A" has a bed full of bikes now and the 47 Ford has them all around it now, right off it's nose are a Redline Rain City Chopper and a Schwinn "XL" Chopper ( only one ever found in Washington State ) and a Schwinn "Spoiler" full size Chopper.

And there's BMX parts on all of them.

Why thank you, I'm mostly a mid school kinda guy but you can see a complete 83 Cro-Mo-Mag Coaster up in the rafters along with a red Zephyr looptail, an old redline and a few others.

I like your tanks too, I just turned 58 which is why I can't ride a 20 anymore, I've had dozens of real live musclecars over the years, in high school I could (and did) buy nice ten year old muscle for snot cheap, a 69 GTO Vert in dark green for $800 etc, etc, the Cobra is my first Ford except for a 68 Cougar XR-7 390 4 speed back in 77, I've always been a Pontiac nut but you can't find them like you used to.

Man if I had a time machine......

Enjoy

Another pic of the truck, and my old cougar BITD, compare it to the Cobra, I got tired of carbs and solid cams.

Now I just drive, sideways sometimes, it ain't stock.

Re: BMX and muscle cars ? Hot Rods have them share pics with the class

I want to see more 60's big Iron, so if anyone has any put it up, there's nothing like a freeway warrior from that era.

My fave is the big Pontiac, damn they were something else, cruise at 120 all day long in comfort and style.

And that Chrysler tank from a few posts back, they'll never build them like that again, power of a musclecar in a luxury living room.

Those were the days.

Re: BMX and muscle cars ? Hot Rods have them share pics with the class

I had somewhere around 8-9 G-body's over the years, they are great cars but the frames a little twisty, I'd find 9C-1 malibus in wrecking yards and get the suspension and cooling systems for my cars, they also had the 120mph speedo and such.

And they could be made to go around corners real fast, most people never knew an El Camino could turn that hard, until you showed them..............

I still want a Monte SS......

Re: BMX and muscle cars ? Hot Rods have them share pics with the class

Four doors are cool, especially if you can beat the crap out of imports with them, and that Riv, I have a friend that has one about the same year as yours, it has the 455 and it's the next level up from a basic 455 but I can't remember if it's a stage 1 or something else.

I researched the engine years ago and found the only difference from the few years earlier torque monster was the compression ratio from what I remember.

Now that car of yours is what I'm talking about, a true freeway machine, and in that color, I want.

Enjoy

Way cool, could you post a pic of your friends RIV?

I know the RIV 455 was often said to have more torque than the HEMI. Less horse but more torque.

Next time I'm 50 miles from home at his house I get some, it's a weird silver in color with from what I remember a silvery/gold interior, it's a weird color combo, I live on one side of Puget Sound and he lives on the other side in Federal Way Wa, the car has been sitting under a carport for around 20 years and is covered in dust.

I keep asking if he'll sell it to me but not quite yet it seems, it may be awhile before I can get over there.

Is it a 1970 RIV?

Re: BMX and muscle cars ? Hot Rods have them share pics with the class

No it's a 71-72 and I'm pretty sure it's a 72, from what I remember researching the engine it was 1-2 years away from the I think 385 horse and 500 ft lbs engine running on premium.

The cam was the same still but the compression was way down, can't remember if it was the heads or pistons doing that.

Last time I saw the car is over a year back, it has the boatail rear, don't remember if the front's the same as yours.

Its a different front end as well with the '71,'72, '73 Boat tails and power was goin down.
1970, one year only body style with the optional rear fender skirt (two different clip on attachments. One skirt, one only trim) had the BIG DOG 455. It was advertised as 375 horse (more like 475), on the full size..yet the '70 GSX, only had 365/370 advertised. BUICKS BADASS rocketship had less horse than the RIV LOL.

And mine is something of an enigma...

Cool Opel, a guy close to me had one for sale a few years ago. Too bad I had too many projects at the time.

Thanks!! You don't see to many Opel GTs around these days. They were only made from 68'-73', this one is a 69' and is a future restoration project. I have seen a few Opel GTs out there that the owners swapped out the engine for a small block chevy engine. That would make for a killer engine swap in one of these cars!

Re: BMX and muscle cars ? Hot Rods have them share pics with the class

1989 I was 15 riding thru the neighborhood on my hutch.  I look in a garage and see a 67 chevelle taillight under a bunch of boxes and junk so I knocked on the door and offered them $500 for it and it was mine.  I sold my hutch to the kid 2 doors down to fund the chevelle. Fast forward 10 yrs and I run into the kid and find out he still had my hutch, bought him a case of beer and got it back.  I still have the chevelle to. http://uploads.bmxmuseum.com/user-images/203140/image58d7d4709d.jpg

I've seen a few of those with the small blocks in them over the decades, would be one screaming little monster I bet, they also had a kit by Scatab for a small lock in a 240-280Z.

I had a 71 Vega GT with a 1970 LT1 4 speed, couldn't keep rear ends under it though, Chevy built the Vega on purpose to drop in a smallblock easily.

If you've ever driven a small car (100 inch or so wheelbase) with big power you'll never want anything else.

Hence my Cobra.

I can quit anytime.

Enjoy

That Chevelle is just damn right, understated but bad ass, you can just imagine it sideways with smoke pouring out of the rear wheel wells, I should have kept more of my cars once owned.

Sounds like a total success story scoring such an awesome Chevelle for only $500.  and even getting your Hutch back 10 years later for probably way less then you sold it to the kid for to begin with. Kid must have been jonesing for a beer! Now days both bike and car increased in value big time, its just like money in the bank.
