Nice frame. Clean. Yeah, skinnygmg's got you in the right direction. It's pretty much early mongoose parts. Ashtablula is not too expensive. good luck. it'll be sweet when it's finished.

Re: 1980 Roger DeCoster

Ebay always has the mags and other parts. You could try Ginnys Old school bmx too. I've pretty much gotten most of my stuff from those two. Just keep searching every couple of days on ebay. There's always something poppin' up.

Re: 1980 Roger DeCoster

If that were mine,I'd love to have a Mongoose goldstem and some Team mongoose forks, which started off as Decoster forks anyway.

Re: 1980 Roger DeCoster

LOL thats funny you said that, that is exactly what I have planned. I have some NOS red team forks and a used gold stem, also some used red race inc. bars, nos blue oakley 3's nos blue suntour vx cranks, nos red kkt lightning peddals a nos blue kashimax seat, and I just got some motomags II's  that I am wanting to get anodized blue. It should look pretty cool, once its done I will post it. I'm looking for a nos mongoose gold stem and s.s. bars If anyone knows anybody, I have cash or trade! thanks

Re: 1980 Roger DeCoster

That should be pretty tight. All those parts are era correct.I had Oakley 3's and Lightening pedals on my Goose in '81.Kashimax,too.Funny,the one part that I never bent or cracked on that bike was the Ashtabula cranks.Another great option for that bike would be the Araya alloys with Shimano hubs like what came on the Team Mongoose. Are you putting red Tires on it?

Added some clearer pics. this is my show bike don't ride this one. won't tighten down the rear rim so the drop outs don't get marked up.

Re: 1980 Roger DeCoster

Sweet Decoster dude......its real nice and you have all the right gear too... its becoming so difficult to build these gems cus parts get snapped up bigtime. Mmmmm....i never saw that auction either...lol

You have a great collection thats for sure and i cant wait to see more pics !!!

WoW.....a NOS gold stem......where on earth did u find one?

Another question....where can i get some Stickers/decals for my 80 Decoster???

I think my Roger Decoster is a 1980 model but i'll check tonight. Once i find all the right parts, i'll restore it.

I only have the following parts for it... tange forks, gold stem, NOS moto mags but i need the rest....if anyone has them...plz drop me an email....i have a used gold stem to trade and can provide pics so LMK?

be cool,

frizz

Well, I liked it before, but I gotta say... The changes look great. Really clean now that it's all red.

What did you do with the blue parts (and motomags)?
