Looking good!! I like cruisers, they are much more comfortable to ride in my older age than a 20", but I do like the stance of a 20" BMX bike better.

It's funny you say that... I have always been a 20" guy...  I bought my first cruiser to ride around the neighborhood in August, and now just 3 months later I have 6 24" cruisers... I have a new found love for the Redline Proline 24's... With this one I have 4 (it's a sickness)!!! They feel a lot like a 20 to me... And in my older age, they are much easier for me to ride...

I still haven't seen any of your bikes... tonguetonguetongue

Re: My current build thread...

The bars for the Redline cruiser have been painted... big_smilebig_smilebig_smile  I did an OK job on these, just a couple coats of blue "canodized" and a coat of clear... New red Zen grips and a Redline crossbar pad will be added too...

I need 2 days to let the clear dry before I mount the bars... The chain is still in the works, but that should be done in the next day or 2 as well...

ThanXXX for stoppin' by... coolcoolcoolcoolcoolcoolcoolcoolcool

Nice builds. Man you got a lotta bikes! All cool. How bout a group pic of the herd?

Well, I have about 16 bikes or so... I have sold and traded a lot of them... I really don't have room for more than 20 at a time... So, if I want to keep building bikes, I have to sell or trade bikes... Building these bikes and customizing them is what I like to do most... I ride almost every day, whether it be just to the store, or an all day cruise, I try to ride as much as possible, but when there are bikes to be built, I'd rather do that... I have just started with the 24" bikes... Got my first one in August and now I have about 6 of them... big_smilebig_smilebig_smile  Here's a quick pic of the bike room... There is only 1 24" in there, I have 5 more in storage down stairs...

http://uploads.bmxmuseum.com/user-image … c8bb83.jpg

I got a few more builds coming up, so it's almost time to make some room... big_smilebig_smilebig_smilebig_smilebig_smilebig_smilebig_smile

Re: My current build thread...

So it turns out that I don't have the proper bb for the Redline cranks, so for now the ones that are on it are staying on it... big_smilebig_smilebig_smile  The chain is done and on along with the bars... big_smilebig_smilebig_smile  SHE IS DONE!!! cool

Your build has a patriotic look to it, perfect timing with the Presidential elections and Veterans Day going on! Great build that turned out very nice! You have a good eye for building bikes!

Re: My current build thread...

So, I got this set of Super Maxy arms from a member here... They are in real good shape mechanically, but visually not very appealing... I don't really have any plans for these as of right now, except for making them pretty again... I'm sure I'll find something to put them on... lollollol  Here's what they look like now...

Going to start with the non drive arm since it's in the worst shape... Time to get out the good ol' elbow grease... big_smilebig_smilebig_smilebig_smilebig_smilebig_smilebig_smilebig_smilebig_smilebig_smile

Re: My current build thread...

So I started working on the Super Maxy crank arms, and noticed the non drive arm is bent... WTF???

http://uploads.bmxmuseum.com/user-images/61851/100_68715830a6a118.jpg
http://uploads.bmxmuseum.com/user-images/61851/100_68685830a6b527.jpg

http://uploads.bmxmuseum.com/user-images/61851/100_68705830a6ee4c.jpg

So, needless to say, these will be going on the shelf 'til I figure out a way to straighten the crank arm without damaging it... Maybe some heat and a vise... Or 'til I find a replacement 165mm arm for CHEAP (I already have $65 invested)... I don't know... Just kinda bummed over the whole thing...

Re: My current build thread...

So, I have this other set of crank arms that I got from "Thetrooper" that need some work... They are SR made Diamond Back Silver Streak 170mm cranks... I also got a Super Duralumin chainring from my buddy "bRADdlphns" that goes PERFECT with these cranks, but it needs some work as well... big_smilebig_smilebig_smile

That sucks the one crank arm bent! That paper clip in the first picture looks like it was just used to scrape some resin from the old kettle cooker!
