Re: 1982 Hutch Pro Racer

Whats with the sugino cranks why not redline flights hutch or profile?  These were super cheep compared to the latter.  We all know with little effort any one over 150 lbs could snap these things.

Re: 1982 Hutch Pro Racer

Funny you ask. I had flights on the way and they got lost in the mail, literally. The package showed up with a big hole in it, a notice saying it was damaged in route, and nothing inside. Sucks for me. In the meantime Im only 140lbs so I wont be snapping anything soon. Flights wanted.

Re: 1982 Hutch Pro Racer

I just bought a mint old set of Profile racing cranks 2nd generation I think 182's.  I have the same bike and it has the original redline 401 flights that I have had since I was a kid.  The never did me wrong, never loosened in a race or on the street.  The profiles I think look more authentic being they made Hutch cranks back in the day.  Which should I use?

Re: 1982 Hutch Pro Racer

I would go with whichever you prefer. Neither are gonna look bad. I finally upgraded to 401s with an OG sprocket and updated the pics. Also added Pro racer bars, NOS CompIIIs and a Terry Cable. This thing is finally where Ive wanted it to be. I F**K*ng love this bike.

Looks Killer...I have the same thing with Black Tuff's....debating putting a set of black Araya shiny sides on it though.

Where'd you get the Oury grips.....I need a set for a 85 Prostyler I'm building.

Re: 1982 Hutch Pro Racer

The black shinesides would look slick. I have a set on my Champ Pro. http://bmxmuseum.com/bikes/profile/2025 Laced them to black spokes and nipples w/DK sealed hubs. They are Ukai Speedlines.

Re: 1982 Hutch Pro Racer

Great Hutch too bad you had to sell it, but as long as it gets you closer to your grail ... priorities I guess.
