1981 Traker

http://bmxmuseum.com/image/dsc00151_copy2.jpg

1981 Traker

This was the first production TRAKER frame sold by Wisconsin Bicycles. Manufactured for them by Voris VDC Dixon. Serial number is W1001.

Nice and clean 1981 TRAKER.
Serial number suggests that this is the first one sold.

Re: 1981 Traker

I wish I had pics of my old Traker if I remember correctly it was simular to that the decal was on the down tube on mine. I got it from a pro racer who had it custom built for him. the geometry was way off for me though I was to tall for the bike and it flexed alot.  supper light frame set. and  I always remmeber the crome was awsome real brite.  nice find you dont see many. mine was the only one I had ever seen in person.

Re: 1981 Traker

Good looking bike, I remember them from the magazines but don't recall seeing one at the track. Bet it was a big seller in the Great Lakes area though.

Re: 1981 Traker

Wow finding a bike as rare as a Traker is like a miracle, finding pads and decals, what are you a wizard?

LOL I live in Wisconsin so that increases the odds a bit. I have owned 4 of these but this is cool because it is the very first one! I am probably going to build it up soon. I have the original TRAKER bars as well. cool Also I know the guy that has the very last one that left the factory. Maybe we could get together for a photo shoot or something. LOL.

Re: 1981 Traker

i had one like yours ,when removing bb, missed the bb cup and punched a hole in downtube from inside out ..looked like a little round door with hatch .
so i closed the door with a hammer and put a MEANERNELL sticker uver it.
aah the memories
