1985 Hutch Trick Star

My 1985 Purple Reign beauty

This is the bike I entered in the 2015 Spring Build-off freestyle class. It took a couple of years to hunt down all the parts I wanted for it, but I eventually found them. The f/f, bars, seat post, post clamp and bear traps are all original finishes and decals. Most of the parts are nos except the tires, but they even have most of the little nubs left. Parts list: Hutch western H stem; Hutch Purple Reign headset; JDB Aerospeed cranks; Tuf neck 44t chainring; Dia compe Nippon (f), 901 (r); Dia compe Tech 6 levers, dated cables, cable clamps; ACS Buff Z's w/ z hubs, 16t Suntour freewheel; Tioga Comp Ramp tires; Oakley B-2 grips; Viscount Trick top seat; Izumi chain; Hutch stem pad.

awesome...wind styler was my first trick bike and then went to RL 20II while my buddy went to a trick star. I was always secretly jealous of it.

Re: 1985 Hutch Trick Star

Thanks everyone, I appreciate all the love for her. This one is probably my favorite of all the bikes I have, building it was truly a labor of love. I was lucky enough to get it from the original owner, she'd been sitting in either an attic or basement for almost 30 yrs before I got it from him. When I first picked it up I had dreams of stripping it and repainting and decaling her, but I just couldn't do it. The f/f, bars and seatpost were in good enough survivor shape that all I did was clean, wet sand and polish them up. Thanks again for looking and sharing the love, I hope everyone enjoys it as much as I do.

Re: 1985 Hutch Trick Star

This is the direction I want to go with mine but with some peregrine masters.  I have always liked lavender on the trickstar for some reason.

I don't throw it away because someday I know I will want it back.
