I bought this frame and fork new and built this Zeronine in the late 80's. It had been packed up in a bike box at my local shop for years, until I finally rebuilt it using the original parts: Frame, Fork, Pads: Zeronine Pro XL. Handlebars: Haro. Stem: DK. Grips: A'me Tri. Rims: Sun. Hubs: GT. Freewheel: Shimano 16t. Cranks: Redline Flight 180. Chainwheel: Pro Neck 46t. Pedals: Shimano DX. Front Tire: Mongoose/Cheng Shin 20x1.90. Rear Tire: Tioga Comp III 20x1.75. Brake: Dia Compe MX901. Brake Lever: Dia Compe Tech 6. Seat: Kashimax RS/Diamond Back Seat Post: GT. Thanks to Gary W. for storing it in safe hands for all those years.

Re: 1987 Zeronine Pro XL

Nice blue frame to build on.  I special ordered mine when I worked at the shop, so it was the only one that was around.  I didn't pack it up until I had stopped racing, but the owner held it for me for over 12 years.  Looking forward to seeing how yours turns out.

Re: 1987 Zeronine Pro XL

I loved this bike when I was a youngster and still do. I remember how when a kid rode up to me or to the track on one it was like " wow, where did you get that ! " because zeronine bikes were so rare. You seen zeronine plates and racing gear all day long at the races , but a zeronine bike had everyone  that thought they were an expert in the field of bmx like " I didn't know zeronine had a frameset you could get". Totally rare in my experience around Philly suburban race tracks. Nice piece! Were these made in the USA or overseas?

These are oversea made, only the oldest ones were made in usa. Anywhere they come from they are hard to find though.

Re: 1987 Zeronine Pro XL

Thanks, they were also rare on Long Island, NY where we were riding and racing. Thinking back, I must have seen a Zeronine in BMX Action and saved up to order the frame.  I swapped the parts off my black PK Ripper onto it, and then sold the PK.  I hope that frame is also somewhere in the Museum...
