1987 Redline RL-20II

Here is the new ride! Freshly built with the help of some really great members here on the Museum. In fact, everything except for the handlebars, grips and brake cables were sourced on here through trade and sale deals. Today was the first day we had any sunshine in a while, but it’s still 8 degrees here!! As soon as the weather gets warmer, I'll get some better photos. A big thank you to the following members: Black_And_Blue, lilaRe, Splinty, Trick69, FitPays and Quick2 for hooking me up with some of the parts. All of the chrome on the frame, fork, bars, rims and cranks are original. The powder had to be redone, there was literally noting left of the original color or finish so I went with my dream color, Cali red. This has been something I’ve wanted to do for a very long time. The parts breakdown is:

Frame and Fork: 1986 serial number frame, 87 lower peg forks. The OG finish was long gone but the chrome on both is original. Best we can think of is it was a 86 leftover frame that was used. Sent to C4 for new powder and decals.
Bars: Original chrome freestyle forklifter
Stem: Redline Suntour stamped, slightly polished
Grips: new ODI mushroom
Seat post: original redline chrome fluted
Seat: Beautiful Elina Flyte Tech, original seat hardware
Seat Clamp: Suntour broken arrow
Cranks: Original finish 401's with a real Techmatic B/B assy, og finish 43t bubble font chainring, all original hardware. New decals on the arms and the Techmatic
Rims: Original chrome Peregrine Super Pro 48's with sealed 87 dated chrome Suzie hubs
Tires: NOS Peregrine HP-48's
Brakes: Nos chrome Dia Compe levers and a super nice set of original Dia Compe 880's, slightly polished. NOS Dia Compe brake pads.
Pedals: Suntour XC-II's, body’s are original, cages have been re powdered.
Pegs: Nos Redline
Number Plate: New reproduction

Tommy,

I think this is the only photo I have. The frame had a flat white spray bomb paint job. This is with my T/A frame, fork and Star Bars before I sent them both to Chip.

Re: 1987 Redline RL-20II

Thanks, I appreciate all the nice comments. This is actually my son's new ride we built together. But he doesn’t get it until the final grades come in at the end of the School year.
