1995 Ace Holeshot
1995 Ace Holeshot
This frame was found in a local bike shop on Long Island, it has been hanging from the ceiling and many people including myself had passed it by many times. I went in the shop one Saturday afternoon asked the owner the price and said I would take it. Upon bringing it home I did a little research and there was not much on it. The frame was built as a team bike for Chip and Dales BMX located in New Jersey, upon meeting (please forgive me for forgetting his name, I think it was Pete) at Rockford he was in charge of the development and construction of this frame. I discovered that there were 150 20" frames made and 250 crusiers made. I spent alot of time researching Mid School reading all of the old threads, I purchased a few Mid School Magazines and spoke with some of the Mid School gurus and after getting an idea of how I would like to see the bike built it was and off to the races to finish it for Rockford. Just as a short side note I feel Mid School should have been represented as an award before retro and customs at Rockford but whatever. Most of the parts used on this build were NOS and the only parts that were restored were the bars and power disk, new school parts are the seat, chainring, forks and pedal cages. Parts List ACE HOLESHOT frame Landing gear forks Powerlite stem Elf Bars thanks Britt Chris King headset Jive grips Paul Canti Brakes Cycle Designs seatpost Crupi seat when I get something era correct I will switch it out Izumi chain JAD cranks Hutch pedals w/crupi cages transition era pedals Rainbow lable Comp III's Spin wheels gen 2 Profile chainring When I get something era correct I will switch this out

Re: 1995 Ace Holeshot
being one of the team riders i can throw a lil towards you,
ace stood for andy currie enterprises, andy being the owner of chip-n-dale bmx bike shop in mt.holly nj.
the company started out like most just making tshirts and number plates.
once the aluminum craze came into bmx,and most of them being junk(i bent a haro mono in half),he felt the need to design a bike stiffer than anything out there.well needless to say if you rode that thing you would see it worked.
many batches of frames were made, the first never being heat treated, causing many frames to snap at the botton bracket/seat tube weld.
three sizes were made,20" 21" and cruiser,i think they even made some xxl cruisers.
frames were built by TNT in north jersey
after the whole save an ounce will win a race craze passed and racing started to die off to trails skateparks and xgames,he looked to me to design a cromoly frame.
we came out with 3 other models, the ace of spades(which came out way before eastern's) which was just a beefed up you could never break it street/park frame.
the excitebike,which was the trails/light street/race frame with 990's
and the very limited production type r's,which was the exact same bike as the excitebike, only came in white, and had v-brake mounts, with my signature sticker on the top top and very simple "type r" stickers on the bottom tube.
hope that gives you some history ![]()

Re: 1995 Ace Holeshot
Wanna sell the pedals? I like the whole bike, by the way. I really do and you are to be commended. I also agree with the fact that "mid school" should be a category at Rockford. I'm sure it will be soon.
Congrats on a great bike, it's worth every penny of $1100.00 and you should have no trouble selling it. -Just a matter of time.
Would you like to sell the pedals or keep them with that bike?
Email me if interested in selling.
Thanks

Holy rajulio hector de la hondo, Mike Cocosis I haven't heard or seen you since ACE products disbanded. It's been years, How's life?
Along with Coco Beware I raced for ACE Products and still have 2 of these bikes in my garage. I have an all white 24" cruiser and a 20" frame & fork w/ a custom paint job that Andy did for me when he brought me onto the team. I also have a raw color frame of the Ace Spade that Mike mentioned earlier in his post. I had no idea there was a website like this out there, It's amazing what you find searching the web when you're bored at work. I also have a Complete Haro Elite, A complete S&M Challenger & a complete old school Standard STA. I can take pics of any of them and post them if anyone would like to see them just let me know. Coco it's good to see that you're still around. I still talk to Norcross, Huntsicker & Steve on occasion. E-mail me so we can catch up.
BMX is like AIDS, once it's in your system it never goes away!!!!
