1981 Laguna 101 (w/upside down drops)

1981 NOS Laguna 101 BMX frame, 1010 steel, heli-arc welds.

I sold this frame on "that" auction site not too long ago, only to receive it back due to a defect! It has the dropouts welded-on UPSIDE DOWN! Probably not too many of these around, especially NOS. It still has the warranty card intact. PKRedline

that is funny,
shame about the dropouts though.

Steel is Real!

It's nice to be important but its more important to be nice.

Pkredline:

Question, does your Laguna literature actually say the frames were "heli-arc" welded or did you just pop that in there?  Reason for asking is with 1010 steel there is no need to use helium or helium/CO2 blend, just doesn't make sense.  I realize from experience that a lot of the "old timers" still call TIG welding Heliarc welding due to the actual brand name of the machines they used years and years ago, even while lacking the actual helium or helium blend shielding gas.

   Just wondering

I had this same frame back in the day. I could kick myself in the ass for letting it go. I picked mine up at the track back in 86 for $40 from a guy that didnt like it. I raced it for 2 yrs and it was a reliable frame. wish i could find a chrome one like mine.
