1985 GT Intercepter

A new addition to my little family.

I wanted a GT and I found one on ebay. It's a little rough but fixable. An hour after I recieved it and it was scattered all over my floor. I was surprised how good some of the parts cleaned up.

Re: 1985 GT Intercepter

Nice example of a very early Interceptor.

Good thing you took it apart before riding it.
The guy who had it before you had the cranks mis-aligned... out of the sprocket hole. Yikes

Re: 1985 GT Intercepter

Yeah, unless I am mistaken there is supposed to be a tab on the crank arm that is supposed to hold that sprocket in place. It's not there. And if you look at where the back wheel is, I may have to remove a chain link or three.

Re: 1985 GT Intercepter

Do you have any new pics of it after you cleaned it up? I had almost the exact same bike. Got it brand new in late 85 or 86. These are hard to find now, especially in purple.

Re: 1985 GT Intercepter

Well I'll put it like this...it ain't purple no more. I painted it white and should have it put back together within the next 2 weeks. Thing is, the more I looked at the pics when it was purple the more I liked it. Oh well, I ain't painting it again any time soon.
