1978 AMF Gold Fever

Totally into RARE

I've done much researching on this bike and haven't found much at all.  There are a liitle bit on the Hawks but nothing on these.  I bought 3 bikes from a man emptying his attic.  People see my other bikes hanging in my showroom and bring me them quite often.  Most of them I kindly suggest them to put in their next yard sale, but I took one look at this one and wanted it.  He said he had never changed anything on it and he bought it new for his son in the late 70's.  From what I am gathering it was a department store bike.  The Lesters are in incredible shape.  It's nice to see it complete including the reflectors and pad set.  Thank you for looking and if anyone knows some history about these, please share.

It is a 1966 Corvair Sprint previously owned by John Fitch.  Just like the Gold Fever, it is very rare.

It's awesome!   I guess I've never seen the "sprint" with the D pillar like that before..

I was five in this picture. I periodically look for a Gold Fever, wanting to rekindle my childhood. My parents bought this bike from Wards, or Montgomery Wards department store. I didn't have the cool Lester's, nor pads. Not sure if that is a better version, but my picture is what mine looked like new.

It wasnt the Beartrap pedals that caused the lumps on my shins,  it was the bald Airwalks that kept sliding off causing the Beartraps to bring blood. Would you like one lump or two with those sir?
