1951 Schwinn Panther 26

Sweet early '50's frame built up as a mid 70's BMX 26er.

So I picked up this frame from ebay about 10-12 years ago with this project in mind.  It's just been hanging in my garage that long as I've been slowly collecting specific parts and pieces!  Fast forward 10 years and I've started getting some old projects together to ride with my older son who is starting to rip it up on a little 16" bmx bike!  I Finally powder coated this frame bright white to build either a gold or blue old school anodized ride.  I've got the parts for either color but decided to go with gold since I picked up the Kos which was outfitted with a blue build.  This ride came together so nice!  I love riding this thing!! Special thanks to Dale Sasso, a local frame builder here in San Jose, Ca. who helped me straighten the frame!  I powder coated it thinking it was pretty straight but realized the rear triangle was about a 1/4" out which Dale pulled back really nice!  Thanks Dale!!

Re: 1951 Schwinn Panther 26

This bike has been relisted in the 1978 area of the Schwinn listings with the correct owner, me.  For some reason Gary and crew has not deleted this listing yet.  I'm really happy with this bike! It rides so nice!!  Thanks.
