1975 Redline Squareback 16

Does anyone know what is the original seatpost size needed for this?

1975 Redline Squareback with 1st gen Bullseye hubs, Ukai rims 28 hole, Race Inc bars and overall good condition.  I would like to know if anyone out there knows what size seatpost this originally used?  Current setup is 13/16 shimmed.

Oh my, that's an incredible machine! What's the story? Is it mostly original? Love it.

Re: 1975 Redline Squareback 16

Hello,
My friend who owns the bike traded for this bike back in the late 70's with a women who needed a bigger bike for her son.  My friend was able to make a trade and never changed a part on it except the post. He wanted something that was area specific.   It's funny because he had 5 daughters who grow up riding this thing, and it has been sitting in his bike room for the last 10-15 years just collecting dust so I asked him if he would mind me showing the museum this rare beast.

Just thinking out loud but if seat post is a shimmed 13/16th would that not be a 7/8th seat post?

No, it was a something OEM to this bike.  Talking to other guys who own 1 of these they have the same problem.
