1977 Jammin Jimmy Weinert

A true garage find.  In the same condition as it was parked after its last ride!!!  This bike came close to being scrapped or sold just like a Wal-Mart Mongoose for 2 digits.

I'm the actual owner of the bike and have been for the past 5 years....I Bought it from a free-lance Bicycle repair guy who has always called me about interesting bikes he would come across, specifically old BMX bikes.  He contacted me about this one in '09 and wasn't sure of what it was or how old.  I've motocross-ed for over 30 years and recognized the name JW when he said it.   Before I could get to him to see it, he had already posted it on Craigslist and I  just about missed it... by minutes!!  Needless to say, I bought it (paid twice the asking price) and have enjoyed it on display in my office since.  Although not the best condition bike I have and/or had.....It's truly the jewel of my BMX collection.  I have resisted restoring it as I feel  it would be a crime to change anything as I'm confident its the only all original example left on the planet.  I will be visiting the Weinert Motocross academy in South Carolina this winter and will make sure to take him up on autographing the bike/pads for the next lucky owner. Stay-tuned.

Re: 1977 Jammin Jimmy Weinert

It's touched on in the bike's story (above). I think it was 75.00 and I gladly paid double ...Since you are local to me I will tell you it came out of a garage clean-out in Old Ortega / Riverside area with some other bikes. Thanks

Totally cool looking bike. Great piece of BMX History right there. Does look to be years ahead of its time in design.

That sucker is too cool for school! cool

JW's training academy is in NC I believe, not SC. I pass it on the way to the beach often. cool

Re: 1977 Jammin Jimmy Weinert

That is awesome. The only JW I ever saw was a used one at a bike store in Fullerton, CA. in the late 70s. I rode it around the parking lot, but ended up buying a used Stroker - it was cheaper.
