1999 Huffy TL-88

The bike that started the fire.

I realize that this bike is not the most acclaimed, brilliant, work of art, but this bike was worth more than gold to me at the time. My emabarrasing weakness for bmx was all brought about by this bike. Even if you don't like it, you have to respect it, but personally I think it's pretty cool. There is really nothing original on this bike except for the frame. The frame has been sitting in my garage for pretty mich the last 8 years, so I built it back up to take some pictures. The bike is a frikkin' tank, and I've always loved the paint on it. Enjoy.

Re: 1999 Huffy TL-88

I always thought Huffy bikes were sweet. The bike store ones were good but the wallmart stuff and the stuff that they make today sucks. The midschool huffy bikes were always great bikes and they used alot of name brand and aftermarket parts. Not to mention that there team at the time was one of the best. If it wasent for the Huffy name I think alot more people would of bought them but the Huffy name never stopped me from buying them back in the late 90s and early 2000s. So I guess I am trying to say your bike is realy cool and its cool to meet some one that likes Huffy bikes also.

Re: 1999 Huffy TL-88

cool thanks a lot man.  huffy did have the best team including cory nastazio (who rode the tl-88), and of course todd lyons.  a 500 dollar bike (which it was) in 99 would be about the equivalent of a 700 dollar bike today, which is in the same range of the top of the line bikes now.
