Re: 1977 Cook Bros. Racing

I think the rear chain tensioners were introduced in 81 so if you don't have them you are prior to that.  check out the 82 I have and look at the rear loop area and you will see a hole there and a piece on the rear dropout where the screw goes.  peace

Re: 1977 Cook Bros. Racing

Sweet bike. I just picked up a 1977 Cook Bros frame and was wondering if they made a shorty? Mine has the curved brake bridge with the Cooks special bottom bracket(Euro) with sealed bearings but I compared it to my 1982 and the top tube is much shorter.

Always looking for Cook Bros. parts or 26" f/f.

With that short of a top tube, you may have a mini.  did you get a fork with it?

Re: 1977 Cook Bros. Racing

Beautiful bike!  This one is a 79'or 80' frame, it has the later style brake bridge.  The 1st gen Cook Bros had a curved brake bridge, see vonmarks cook bros bike.
