Re: 2014 Prophecy Pro

Dave, The rims are my own I had made up by a road bike wheel company. Wanted to see if I could make a set lighter then any rim currently on the market.

Re: 2014 Prophecy Pro

Hubs, Rims, Ti Spokes, Nipples all in about $1700. The rims were a bit more because they had to do a few more steps for me to get the side wall paper tin while retaining 100% strength

Re: 2014 Prophecy Pro

I built this one for my son. He is 10 expert, and yes he is a very very tall kid at 10 years old. He has been riding Prophecy frames for the past 3 years and loves them. I have let several other kids take a few laps on the bike and they all come back and say WOW I love it. It is very very stiff being all carbon (wheels and frame) but everyone says the same thing . You just think where you want it to go and it goes there. Very nimble and well balanced ride. From what he tells me it comes out of the gate very well and feels light but not floaty. If you see us around the country at nationals feel free to come up and check it out and take it on a spin.

Re: 2014 Prophecy Pro

Wow that is a lot of bike for a 10 year old. He must be really tall with a 21" frame.  My son is also 10 and 5'5" @ 155lbs. He will be riding a pro 20.5. Is there a weigh limit on this bike.

Re: 2014 Prophecy Pro

I have always run Swissstop cork pads ($60) but on these wheels I am using BOX pads ($24). I think the cork is a bit over kill as bmx bikes don't use as much hard breaking as say a road bike therefor the heat is not an issue. So far they have worked perfectly.
