2006 DK General Lee 16"
2006 DK General Lee 16"
My son's 2006 model DK General Lee 16.
16 inch version of the General Lee...hence the "16" in the name.
Some of the extras we've added since last year:
Aftermarket DK "Iron Cross" chainwheel,
Alex double wall rims,
14mm sealed mech Joytec hubs (front slotted axle to suit 3/8" dropouts),
Free Agent pinned mini-flat race pedals,
Hoffman grips,
Shadow Conspiracy bar plugs,
Dragonfly "Daytona" handlebar,
Mosh "Shadow" stem,
Shadow Conspiracy seat post,
Odyssey snake skin seat,
Maxxis "Hookworm" rear tyre,
Fishbone "X-UFO" rotor/gyro.
This bike was retired from service by my son today, who has plans to sell it. If you are in or near Canberra, Australia then post up and we can arrange for you to come take a look if your kid needs a good quality 16".

Speaking of weight, the 16" General Lee is VERY heavy for it's size.
To put it in perspective, my complete Fly Diablo weighs less...yikes!
However, they are indestructible and if your son rides hard only DK and Redline make 16" bikes that are up to the task (watch out for the low-end Redline model though, it's not so good).
This particular bike fell about 7 feet straight down onto flat concrete with him on it/tangled up with it and there was no damage whatsoever!

Re: 2006 DK General Lee 16"
Hahaha, it gets even funnier!
My son comes back from a neighbouring kid's place today and says he's trading an old bike (see below) for three valve caps:
I thought "Well, he wants the caps & doesn't need the cheapo bike, it's a crumby deal, but hey, who cares."
Turns out the kid thought he was getting for the General Lee in exchange for three valve caps...will take new pic on weekend, hundreds of $ have been spent since the museum picture!
OMG, I had to try so hard not to laugh my arse off at him...what was he thinking?!?! ROFL

Nice... !
I was going to buy a DK General Lee 16" for my daughter, but could not get one in NZ.. or any good 16", except a Mongoose that was SUPER heavy
Ended up getting a Hoffman Rhythm 16", from Albes, but pretty heavy too.. So picked up a second hand Redline Proline 16".., she loves them both !
So yea my near 5 year old daughter, has a BMX collection started, just like dad has ![]()
