1987 Haro Sport

So as I kept looking at all the bikes in the museum I started to notice a common trend with Haro rebuilds concerning colors and decided to do a totally custom color and decal set for my latest build. This is what I came up with. I titled the heading "w/blue components" because after discussing some of the colors with Chromey I decided to buy an all black parts package for this bike as well to see what it would look like also. So I will be re-submitting this bike again in the future with a black Dominator seat, black V-Monster 1.95" skinwalls, black AME grips, chrome Peregrine seat clamp, black Victor pedals and a black chain. AJ over at AJK Bikes did my custom decals for me and also supplied me with the frame and fork. What I like the most about this bike is I decided to go with a chrome wheelset this time and the bike stops on a dime and I can do awesome endo's with it with little effort. So here's the parts list: New Ame grips, Restored and Powdered Group 1 Stem, New YST 1" Headset, New Haro Kneesavers, New Tech 77 Locking Levers, New 1" 1st. Gen. Gyro, New Gyro Cables and Front Cable, New FBM Rumble Strip Seat w/new guts, New Chrome Seat Post, Powdered Peregrine Seat Clamp w/new decal and hardware, New Redline Flight Cranks, New Repro. 88`Team Chainwheel, New Blue/Chrome Chain, New ACS Freewheel, New Eastern Pedals, New Sun Rhino Lite 3/8`` Wheelset w/Sun Ringle Sealed Hubs, New Ano. Blue Valve Caps, New ACS True 2.0`` Tires, New Dia Compe AD 990 Rear Brake, New Dia Compe 883 Front Brake. Well that`s about it. It was fun to build a totally custom Haro. It`s nice to have an original that no one else has. Botou888 inspired me to powder my seat post clamp and 2 Fresh inspired me to powder my stem. What to build next??

i like the colors quite abit not over the top but def custom
great job - colored tires might really set it off but that is just my opinion

Very nice I like it. The blue chain is a really nice touch and it pops a lot more than I would've expected. It's hard to say about colored tires. If they were the old school haro tires or any old school tires with skinwalls then yea they'd look good, but those are $$$ if you're actually gonna ride the bike. The new 1.90 and 2.1 blue tires can sometimes be "too much" on some of the new bikes. Anyway I agree that it's nice to see a personalized custom bike resto and it turned out really well. Is this a rider?

Looks awesome, generally I only like rebuilds that are true to the original design, but this is great. What I really like is that even though the colour is different and the parts are different, it looks really SHARP!

Sweet mate. Its nice to see something a little different, the decals are great. I am doing something like it thanks to a clear set of Team Sport 88 decals (thanks to 1nicemustang). I am not giving anything away. Finishing my 88 team master then its on. Good work mate.

Ok so I took Psycho's advice and snapped a couple of photos outside. Not sure I guess it looks a little different when the light hits the colors?

wah wah wee wah! sweet man, i like the custom odyseey gyro casing decals too. ya gotta love haro colors, as basic as they are... RGB all the way baby!!

Thanks man, I appreciate that! The Gyro cables are NOS though. Got the entire Gyro with cables from alcyon here at the museum. Hmm never thought but maybe a guy could reproduce those decals?

So I tried the all black look and DID NOT LIKE IT. I then realized why I decided to a totally custom build.

This a completely awesome bike. Great build. Unique. Love the intergation of some newer-old chool parts.
Colors are great too. Like a long lost team bike for Mat hoffman BITD.
