1965 Schwinn Typhoon

Serious fun.

Was sold to me as a Stingray. After some research I found that the guy I bought it from had done the same while reading his posts on Rat Rod Bikes. He had pics of it up and in the thread it was confirmed to be a Typhoon. The Dick then advertised it as a Stingray anyway. I hate liars.

It still rides well and wheelies like nothing I have ever ridden. Not sure what to do with it yet. The BB is so low that cranks longer than 155s will scrape easily. Kinda thinking Old School Chopper...

I build what I like. I am not into restoring everything... some things need to be custom. I live by my own criteria, not yours. If that is something that bothers you, feel free to leave me alone.

Re: 1965 Schwinn Typhoon

I think you've got something right there. You already have 2 Stingrays in BMX trim. A Typhoon is something we would have used to build our BMX bikes B.I.T.D. We had to use what was there to work with towards our goal. You have started a true variety of early, early BMX. Go with it, please don't turn it into a chopper. That's too easy and you won't feel the same reward or pride.
