1974 Huffy Mono-Shock

Restoration project of my childhood bike.

I was given this exact bike back in the 70's for my birthday.  I have a picture of me sitting on it and wanted to restore it to the exact way it was when it was given to me. I kept the same color, all parts are original. It took me over a year to find all of the parts and I finally put it all together last week once the paint had dried. I remembered my dad had bought me a speedometer for it and that is the only thing on it not original to the design. The speedometer was a huffy as well. I was able to get the decals reproduced to the exact specs by a local graphic artist by using some old childhood photos I had of me with my original monoshock. I never found out why the original decals were of CMX, someone told me it might have been because it was purchased at Coast to Coast Hardware Stores? Hope you enjoy it as much as I do! Thanks, Kelly.

Nice job!  You should post the picture of you sitting on the original.  Welcome to the site.  I'll hit this one as a favorite!

Grammar is important. Capital letters are the difference between helping your Uncle Jack off a horse, and helping your uncle jack off a horse.

Ezekiel 25:17 ~ "The path of the righteous man is beset on all sides by the inequities of the selfish and the tyranny of evil men....."

Sick!

A bicycle is like a toothbrush; you should have one and use it often.
