Re: 1994 Zima

That seat post was way ahead of its time. nice build!

I can't believe the way people mistreat bikes. It also amazes me how many people don't have any bikes and never ride them - poor miserable souls.

Yea what's up with the seat post? Post a close up pic if it's not too much trouble.  Cool bike man!

Re: 1994 Zima

The frames were built to order, so you could have the seat post built to your requested height, and then pick chrome or paint and decal colours, this frame was no.29 of circa 80

I found a slightly better picture of the seat post and some scans of the original review from 94

Re: 1994 Zima

No, I let go of the chrome one sad ....couldn't justify having two.
This is what I'm working on now.  I got it a while back and it's been awaiting a re-spray but I decided to clean it up and it came out nice.
Tidied up survivor style, new decals...

Re: 1994 Zima

Just joined the forum, as reading about the Zima got me all excited. I have number 57. Bought brand new from Steve in Southampton, Loved it as a kid and equally as much still today. Crazy to think only 80ish were made.

It's so awesome to see other people have them and the love they are gettin' still.

Re: 1994 Zima

I'm a bit ashamed of it at the moment, it sat in my parents shed for a good few years. I'm gonna get it rolling again now though. The chrome has gone in places so need to work out the best plan. Rechrome (quoted £350 so far) or dechrome (£60) and paint. Forks and seat post will clean up as will most other parts of the bike.

Another Zima emerges cool sounds like it might be a sliding seatpost version??!
You need a photo bucket host type site to upload photos, then paste the IMG code in your post.
Look forward to seeing it!
