Mid-School HARO THREAD - for those of us that love the midschool haro

ok, I searched for hours and found threads for just about every type of bike you can imagine here, except the Mid-school Haros. in my opinion the truly good ones ran from the early 90's to around 2003 ( EDIT - im gonna change that to 2004-2005'ish after thinking about it ) . I have decided to get rid of everything else and concentrate solely on these bikes, I love them. I have also noticed they have quite a following here among certain members. so anyhow, I figured I would start this thread for those of us that collect these tanks, so show off your bikes and parts. lets see those blammos, ultras, T-bones, supras, mirra pros, revos and blammos , etc... the chevron stems, big block pedals, grind discs and everything else that makes the mid-school haros stand out from the rest.  Ill be posting some pics tomorrow, I have to do some work on photobucket. I also figured this would be a good place to swap imfo. about these models, and hopefully someone has some catalogues they can scan as well. sorry, just realized i only listed freestyle stuff... big_smile of course the group 1's and monocoques and everything haro mid-school are more than welcome guys.

*** I HOPE THIS DOESN'T OFFEND ANYONE, but im not really looking for the retro masters with this thread. there are plenty of other threads for those bikes. to be honest I hate to see a bike that has a great look on its own "ruined" by copying another model. tongue - ok, commence the stoning ... im sure someone will want to burn me at the stake for that comment. **** EDIT - this doesn't mean that they are completely unwelcome however, upon consideration if you really feel you have a awesome build we could appreciate then please feel free to add it here, no ones gonna hate. just didn't want this thread to turn into a retro master thread when it started out, which is easy to do, I think were established enough now to withstand a few retros, especially if you have other midschooler haros to show off .... big_smile ****

***EDIT   01-07-2014  -  I have decided to start adding Premium Products parts and Bikes to the thread as they are owned by Haro and their parts are used on a lot of haros completes ***

Heres my current project 96 super blammo - I have managed to gather a lot of the parts for this now. its getting chrome fusion cranks, chevron stem, big block pedals, haro grind disc, alex supra rims and haro multi-surface 3 tires and either sledgehammer or jack hammer bars. I am working on getting decals sourced now, and aside from a few more pieces all I need to do is save up for the rechrome. I still need the mega-nuke hubs with female axles, haro layback seat post, clamp, and seat. I have the 990 but still need a front brake and levers as well. but shes getting closer. Also working on a deal to pick up a 98 Ultra frame, fork, and bars for my next project.

race is cool. lately i have been thinking alot about the group 1's, id like to build at least one eventually. a friend of mine has one of the 93 ( i think ) xxl's with the straight top tube im trying to get now. and the monocoques are just plain cool. all mid school haros are welcome. just didnt really want to see a bunch of the master retros. they already have a thread of their own.

kevin, that is a very clean ride. love it. one of the nicest zippos i have seen. every time i see one painted a garrish color of bright green and master stickers slapped on it it makes me wince. thats what a zippo should look like. im not knocking the guys who do build them, i just prefer the mid-schol haros the way they should be. especially the freestyle bikes with the big cartoonish bubble font , big azz down tubes and blingy heavy chunky stems, hubs, etc,...

Sweet thread!!!! Calling Costas, is there a Costas in the house????? big_smile cool lol

I've got a couple mid school Haros. I will have to dig some out and take some pics. I still think they are some of the coolest and best riding bikes made.

ha ha this going to be a great thread!  you know i love the mid-school haros!  96-99 that is - the 00 USA Made Mirra Pro frame was the last "good" mid-school frame they put out (IMHO).

i know we've spoken about your 96 blammo but please please please don't peel the decals off! would be criminal! smile  i've got a lead on a potential NOS set - will keep you posted

Re: Mid-School HARO THREAD - for those of us that love the midschool haro

keep me posted, but the super blammos really needs a rechrome. i know it doesnt look bad from the pics, but it really is ate up pretty bad in some places. especially the forks. trust me, i wouldnt be forking out the cash to have it chromed if i didnt really feel it needs done. probably gonna take me another year to get it totally finished with that extra expense. by the time this dam things done i could have built a master or a trickstar... big_smile .. but i want something with real class... lollol

seriously you're creeping me out i keep looking behind me lol

i hear you but IIRC the 96 blammo is pretty rare which is why i say "leave it" - not sure of actual numbers but i haven't seen too many true 96s here.  only one that i'm missing!  i'll try to get some pics in here later...

Re: Mid-School HARO THREAD - for those of us that love the midschool haro

lol ... south florida if it makes ya feel better. i heard the production numbers were pretty low on the 96's,but not for sure.

BTW guys, keep an eye on my haro trade thread. i posted it to trade the rest of my stuff off for midschool haro stuff, but theres plenty of stuff on there i cant jump on. any of you guys are welcome to jump on and post anything you have to trade for haro stuff. theres a member on there now with a older haro invert whos looking for 80s gt stuff, and i just dont have any of that left. no ones gonna step on my toes or hurt my feelings. theres plenty of mid school haro love to go around. i just wanna see them go into the hands of those that will truly appreciate them for what they are and not spray paint them neon green and stick master decals on them... big_smile . seriously though, retros can be cool, im just bustin' balls. at least that movement has been responsible for alot of them being pulled out of garages and barns and brought back out into the collector world. although sometimes i wonder if in a few yrs theres gonna be a bunch of threads with guys restoring their zippos and revos back to the OG specs from retro builds. and i want to see one of those pretty candy apple red color mirra pros with all the goodies on it posted, i know one of you guys have one, so post it up.

sport123 - the NOS Blammo decals are a longshot right now, but i'll keep you posted.  also, if you can take the crank arm off and get closer pics that'd help.  if you can scan the disc it'd be even better. i have a grind disc so sizing isn't an issue.

Here's my 97 Haro Monocoque Elite. It's my ultimate midschool Haro race machine.

I'll add to this, here is my 2001 540 air. It's in rider condition and I've recently got the matching fusion front pegs. I just need to replace the tires with something good.
