1976 Mongoose
Decided to keep this bike in the spirit of how I found it, and not do a total era correct build. Last picture is how I got it. I replaced the cranks, pedals, wheels (combination of several different sets), grips and seatpost. Mongoose frame, Cook Bros forks, Supermaxy cranks, Union rat trap pedals, Race Inc seatpost, CMC rims (ACS and Bendix 76 Hubs) and Aluminum bars. Will probably eventually replace the pedals, dustcaps, wheels and maybe the stem. Could still use some more polishing, but I think it looks pretty good now as a budget build.

Re: 1976 Mongoose
the 1976 Mongoose was my first real bike. The one my dad got me for christmas was silver with the red pads and the spider mags.

Cool bike!!
Just found this site, quite interesting to see how the BMX shape evolved over the years.
This one really has a 70's US feel to it (in a good way, unlike Saturday Night Fever, for example!!).
Once again, I like your bike.
Cheers & hello from London.
