Who's "we"? Are you speaking for everybody? Or are you saying those threads have nothing to do with this topic?

Re: What are your favorite mid school components?
"We" as in me and maybe some others, maybe the OP. Some parts look great on all BMX bikes, but some parts either look good on one style or the other. I never raced, so a race bike does nothing for me. I have owned a few over the past three years but ended up selling them all. I own more street/trail bikes than anything and most are from the mid to late 90s. I would love to see a few cool "popular" parts for them that are not Primo or S&M as those two brands seem to be the most common used. That is including my bikes, so please do not think I am against either, just looking for more options.

Thanks on the Haro hevron stem. Yes, I so dig these stems. I have a full collection of each in a show case of each color, red, blue, black and silver. I also have both types invert and standard angle. The inverted is the hardest to gather up and red is the hardest to find in color. The Bigblocks are tight to with the gyro tabs on the stem.

Re: What are your favorite mid school components?
the first freecoasters were just coaster brake hubs with a Standard Un-brake in place of the brake pads. I didn't know Standard made hub bodies. I have an old Suntour 48 hole hub with an un-brake in it.
Anyone have a pic of Basic Bikes Whammy bars?

standard came out with freecoasters in 92 . The hub shells were machined from one piece of billet steel and used suntour internals with a standard unbrake. These engraved coaster shells are very rare and command high prices these days.

Re: What are your favorite mid school components?
I have to agree with suicidepan, I love the SBC shelled Suntour freecoasters. I built this one for my Shorty a few months ago.
SBC shell, SBC axle, SBC Un-brake, Nankai 16T cog, Suntour guts. Super smooth and easy to work on.

(Another good old hub in the background, Nankai Techno that I ended up trading away).

Re: What are your favorite mid school components?
What is the upsweep on Whammy bars? I remember them seeming to have a crazy amount of upsweep.
Q-bars, Jive grips and tech 77's (especially with locking buttons), I wouldn't consider mid-school since they 'came from the 80's.
Basic Silencer pegs come to mind as a cool/fav part. Cool looking but they would grip round rails in a bad way (same with the Standard pegs that had the same dimensions).
