1982 Kuwahara E.T.

1982 Kuwahara E.T.

I am a serious collector of NOS "mint" BMX's - I know very rare to find these days! BUT I did get hold of this beauty from a fellow collector for a small fortune but it is unbelievable!

This is my 2nd ET Kuwahara (the 1st a used model I sold) & simply put it is the same the day it left the factory in Japan 100% original & untouched right down to the inner tubes & valve caps! NEVER RIDDEN OR SEEN THE OPEN AIR!!!!!!

Living in London in the UK it is very hard to find NOS early 1980's BMXs but this one spent all its previous life in the warm climate of the USA stored in a bike shop for 31 years! As its a USA market spec it has no front brake & also has the much rarer all black IRC 80X tyres (made in Japan like every other component) that actually featured on the bike in the film.

Comments welcome & I plan to moth ball it for the future as it is without doubt a very iconic & special piece of not only BMX but also film history too!

Re: 1982 Kuwahara E.T.

WTF?  Man I have shopped in that bike shop many times too.  It must have been hiding.  I did grab a bunch of nice late 80's parts from them when I first moved to Utah though.  That's a very cool piece of history.  I still remember watching the film in theater.smile

Cool, a new bike.  Wait a minute.......where am I going to hide this one.  She's going to catch me for sure!!!

Pretty sure this was the bike I purchased and sold to a Aussie. If so there should be a small nick on the bars, Congrats.

I'm assuming this is the same "Bingham Schwinn" that was advertised in the movie Rad?

Thanks for the comments guys - "BlackSaturday" not your old bike but from the same supplier! I sourced this from a UK collector who had it for a couple of
years before I purchased it cool

Re: 1982 Kuwahara E.T.

nice bike.... correction, beautiful bike.

I've been shopping for one the past month or two.
about to bite the bullet on a f/f and take the time (years of coarse) to find the parts and build it before I die hopefully.

shot of silver, with a gold chaser.

NEEDS: a kuwi E.T. to build, frameset at least but if you have a complete even better. I need y'all to buy my stuff that's for sale.

Re: 1982 Kuwahara E.T.

Yep it did come from Utah & was shipped to the UK about 2 years ago. The guy I purchased it
from has an 80's NOS collection probably worth over $100k USD!!!!!!
