Happened to me last year...

My cousin did on the wildwood boardwalk about 6 years ago on some older Haro I got at a yard sale for $10.  It was like a comp I think, nothing really valuable.  He sold it for $80. He got  back to the house carying a case of corona and handed me $50, then told me what he did. 

I had a gang of Vato's see me on my 71 bmx Klunker 5 spd fastback, my buddie speaks spanish, and they were discussing as to how they were gonna kick our asses and take em, and my buddie,who's thiiick Italian, ran over to em, scattering and scaring the crap out of them, and after he was done, one came over all sheepishly and asked if I'd sell him the bike, and I asked him if he had learned his lesson about being a jerk bike thief, and he looked at me and said "huh, what?" and I looked at him right in the eyes and told him to suck it, and to go get his 4 friends cause me and my buddie wanted to beat all of em.....they never came back. The funniest thing is both my buddie and I are about 160 lbs, and the smallest one of them was easily over 200. ha ha ha. Thank god for speaking a little spanish. I thought they were gonna shank us, lol.

While riding my bike when I was a kid, some guy offered me some candy to get in his car.    Does that count?

All the time, yelling, running after  me... I'll givvveeee youuuuuuu fivvvvveeeeeee hundredddddddddddd!!! For my og kos! Like im some tweeker, who would sell it!! 

I was waiting at the . Corner with the kids and some guy started beeping and pointing at me. Drove like a nut to park the car and ran up to me and said he had one like that back in the day. And then asked to buy it , I had to say no since I just finished the build.....that's when the kids saw the value in my bikes ..

Nice bike,I would not sell it either.

a couple times, they usually stop asking when i start describing the bike and they realize im not just some kid on a old bike

Last year I got up one morning and rode my GJS freestyler on the boardwalk from Ventnor to Atlantic City. This guy called over to me and said " nice old bike, wanna sell it"? So figuring I'd mess with him for a bit, I said "sure what's your offer"? He than said how about 50 bux? I laughed, and rode away. He called for me to make a counter offer, but I was done with this guy.

I traded one of my customers a mid 90s Redline PL24 for a complete Bullseye crank setup.... I'm still not sure who came out on top on that one...

Now he expects me to sell him every one of my bikes he sees.. cheap.  Guess he didn't realize the price of Bullseye cranks.

Ok, I'll give you $75....it's an old kids bike,ca'mon!!!!

First of all the museum is not an auction site, but you are getting close to my reserve.

A guy pulled up on the sidewalk downtown and started yelling "HUTCH!!" at me until I rode over to him. He literally begged me to sell.
I saved his # and when I called him a couple years later to see if he still wanted my Trickstar f/f, he left work and was here in 30 minutes. Also got a really cool hook up with a guy who does powder-coating and chrome from him.
