What would you do with this?
So I recently moved from my very small twin home which was 2 minutes from crime infested West Philadelphia. The one thing I like about getting older is that you can make decisions about what you want to do, where you want to be etc...
I chose to move about 25 minutes away and to a place where you barely knew you had a neighbor let alone knew who they were. The house I bought is in a cul-de-sac with 3 other houses. It backs straight up to Chester creek and I own 2 acres of the woods that are literaly 50 feet off my deck.
Now, I couldn't have planned this any better. I was looking for a good place to ride my auburn that's close to home. A place where I could get down to what the bike is made for. Here is what I have 50 feet from my house.

I havn't got a chance to get down there yet with a bike because i've only been here a month or so. But I have a feeling it's going to be a great spot during the Summer. Would you guys make good use of this? Would you make a set of jumps? I'm afraid the local kids will come and someone may get hurt on my property?
One other thing it makes is a great back drop for bike pictures!

Wanted!!

Paradise! Legalities suck these days but if you make the jumps inconspicuous you might not have a problem. ![]()

Re: What would you do with this?
build jumps, post private property no trespassing signs.
make a phone call to your insurance agent and find out what liability you have with no trespassing signs and if you need to do more than that.
and then let me know, we are looking to buy very soon and I'd like to be able to have some jumps myself.

Re: What would you do with this?
The cool thing is that the trails are already there. There all over the place and there extremely clear. You can see where the snow fell and layed right on the trails. If you look at the left side of the picture you'll se an abandoned set of railroad tracks. They were used in the Civil War back in the 1800's. They have been out of use for 80+ years. The very top trail runs along side those tracks for about 4 miles and than into the next town over. But I like how it all comes together into a pit right below my deck. I can't wait to get busy down there and see if we have any neighborhood kids with talent.

Re: What would you do with this?
Definitely NO Trespass signs and what we used to do with my half is put a big old chaing across. Maybe spray it blaze orange and hang flags on it and put across in front of any jumps you build. That way you are at least trying to stop kids going back and jumping when you are not home. I'd also say make friends with your neighbors so they can also keep an eye out for kids going back that way. If you build it, they will show up.

Re: What would you do with this?

I just bought the bike locally and havn't done more than look at it yet. I bought it, snapped a pic and burried it in the shed to have something to look forward to until spring. I plan on freshening the bike up a bit.
I was actually thinking it would be cool to have a BMX party down there with a bon fire and all. The neighbors told me sometimes they'll hear 5 dirtbikes tearing it up down there.
Guess I better start building!

Re: What would you do with this?
First off, nice backyard.
Second, I'd invite me over to "test ride" and let you know if you should sell it to me ![]()
Then (this is a parody and not to be taken seriously) invite the admins and mods over to do their magic. Figure since everyone is blaming them for something or another we might as well too lol ![]()
But seriously look into this and let us all know what's involved.
Looking for, 36 hole hoops in good/great shape. Prefer sun rhino or chinook or leventer(?) spelling on last one might be wrong but you know what I mean.

Re: What would you do with this?
No trespassing signs are a joke, you need to "Post" your land to really keep people out. If you build any kind of trails and jumps on your land you can find the standard liability release forms online, but all attendees need to be 18 or older to sign them.
PS I live not to far from you, and would love to hit some trails and dirt jumps. ![]()

What he said. People put orange flags on chains and "No Trespassing" signs all day long and still get sued.....
Oh, I'd be into riding there too. ![]()
